Changes to Our Local Library

The Township of Wollaston, Staff and Council welcome Kelly Veenstra as the Acting CEO/Librarian, effective May 21st, 2021. Many of the library patrons are familiar with Kelly, who has been employed with the library as a Library Clerk since October 2020.

The Library Board has advised that they have temporarily closed the library, to facilitate Kelly’s access to the necessary programs and applications as well as give her an opportunity to familiarize herself with the new role. The Library Board will post notice on its reopening plans for next week on their Facebook page and website.

Patrons who had scheduled pickups have been served, and online services are still available by visiting http://wollastonpubliclibrary.ca/elibrary/library-catalogue/ to browse the online catalogue.

The Good Food program has continued uninterrupted, however if you have questions please contact Sue Mowers at (613) 337-5339.

We would also like to address some misinformation which was recently brought to our attention. We would like to confirm that there are no plans to close the library permanently. Our Township is thankful to have a welcoming, positive space for our Stakeholders and their children to visit and learn. To that end, Township staff are currently applying for funding to build a new library to support our community for many years to come. Both the Township and the Library Board looks forward to working in partnership on this very exciting project.
