Zoom “Crashers”

We would like to make a public apology for the “crashing” of our Zoom Council meeting yesterday. A number of unknown individuals attended our meeting and made racist, rude and inappropriate comments while members of Council and Staff were trying to speak. They were removed as quickly as possible once it was identified which accounts were speaking, this was made only more difficult as there was more than one.

We would like to make it known that this was not funny, and not received in anyway as a joke. This behavior is not tolerated, and we do not condone comments which marginalize or belittle our Stakeholders.

Please accept our apologies on behalf of all Council and Staff, we will continue to do our best to provide a welcoming and inclusive space for all. New restrictions will be in place for our next meeting, to ensure a respectful environment is possible.
